(If you have specific command issues related to the software you are using, please reference that software’s Help Menu or Owner's Manual)

Resolution/dpi:   Setting your artwork to 1/4 Scale @ 600 dpi is generally recommended.  At 1/4 scale w/600 dpi, your final output resolution will be 150 dpi.  The RIP Software used for large format printing interpolates the file to maintain existing image quality as it is enlarged.  This means that it will not create a pixilated or blurry effect to the original if the supplied image quality is sharp and the file is between 100 and 150 dpi at full, final size.

Minimum resolution should be 100 dpi @ final output size (e.g.; a 300 dpi image can be enlarged 3 times; a 400 dpi image can be enlarged 4 times). Files less than 75 to 100 dpi usually become pixilated or blurry when printed at full size.

NOTE: Do not send us files larger than 150 dpi at final output size. 150 dpi is the maximum resolution utilized by RIP software. Files over 150 dpi are more difficult to transport and may require additional processing time which will incur a computer time charge.

Colors:   The printing process is four color, for best results set your file in C, M, Y, KRGB is acceptable as well, but is interpolated to CMYK by the RIP software.  For Spot Colors, Pantone Matching System - convert to process color and consult your Pantone "Solid to Process" swatch book to see how your spot colors may translate in four color printing. The key here is that all color is interpolated or translated by the RIP software to approximate as accurately as possible what is set up in the file. Final printed colors will frequently vary considerably from your screen colors.

Proofs:   If you are concerned about image quality or color results, a color proof of your file can be run for $45 (one square foot, laminated photo paper or other banner material if specified).  Standard turnaround time for a proof is 2 - 3 business days in addition to the actual display turnaround time.  Emailed proofs are charged based on computer time required. Normally this is $25.   If you merely want to confirm our receipt of the contents of the artwork, please send a printed 8.5” x 11” hard copy, and/or a .jpg or .pdf proof for OUR printing reference.

You can create a very accurate screen proof of your file’s resolution if you simply zoom in on your image to the equivalent level at final size. For example if you file is set up at ¼ scale, zoom in to 400%. The resolution of your screen image will be very close to what the printed image will be. Scroll through the whole image to be sure all areas (embedded photos, drawings, text, etc.) are satisfactory.

Computer Time / Artwork Charge:   If required, artwork/computer time is $95/ hour.  All display prices are based on suitable artwork provided, ready to print.  Any changes/modifications to artwork supplied will require an additional artwork charge of $95/hr.  Please consult with a salesperson if your artwork does not meet the above criteria.

Sending Your File:   For best results we recommend sending your file on a CD, accompanied by an 8.5"x11" hard copy. The hard copy should indicate; file name, description of the display unit to install graphics on, and production/finishing notes.  Critical logo colors should be defined in PMS terms.

Please provide only the files you want printed.

*** Do not zip or stuff your file if sending on a CD, doing so may incur a computer time charge ***

For electronic transfer, it is preferable to use our automatic UPLOAD facility linked from the top of all pages in our website: TradeShowShops.com. You will find this easier than emailing, the file will be automatically logged into our system for processing and you will receive a written email confirmation that the file was successfully transferred.  Before uploading, please Zip or Stuff your file, .zip or .sit files only ( not .sitx ).

(Failure to follow the above guidelines may result in additional artwork/computer, rush or overtime charges, and additional shipping charges)
